![]() | Mario VanhouckeMario Vanhoucke obtained his degree in 'Commercial Engineering' (Handelsingenieur) and his PhD at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and is currently professor at the 'Faculty of Economics and Business Administration' of the Ghent University (www.feb.ugent.be) and at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (www.vlerick.be). He is advisor of several doctoral students (see below). His main research interest is in resource-constrained project scheduling, project monitoring and tracking and scheduling applications for health care purposes. The methodology used is optimization through branch-and-bound, meta-heuristics and simulation. |
![]() | Broos MaenhoutOn October 5th, 2007, Broos Maenhout has obtained the degree of 'doctor in the Applied Economics' (promotor Prof. M. Vanhoucke). Together with M. Vanhoucke, he continues the research on scheduling in hospitals and in various other environments. The future research intentions lie in the combination between manpower scheduling and project scheduling. In October 2009, he has been promoted to professor at the Ghent University. |
![]() | Vincent Van PeteghemIn 2002, Vincent Van Peteghem obtained a degree in 'Applied Economics - option Technical Business Administration' at the Ghent University. Between 2002 and 2005, he was a research and teaching assistant at the department of accountancy and finance. From November 2005, he started a PhD at the Ghent University and the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, under the guidance of Prof. M. Vanhoucke. His research topic is on multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling problem optimization. |
![]() | Veronique SelsVeronique Sels joined the research group on September 2007. She obtained a degree in 'Applied Economics - option Technical Business Administration' and the 'Master in Operations and Technology Management' at the Ghent University. She started a PhD at the 'Operations Research & Scheduling' research group with a focus on machine scheduling and scheduling within a health-care environment. |
![]() | Jeroen ColinJeroen Colin joined the OR&S research group in September 2009. He obtained a degree in 'Civil Engineering' at the Ghent University. His research topic will be on dynamic project scheduling and control and the development of real-life project scheduling procedures. |

He obtained a degree in 'Bio Engineering' at the Ghent University and 'Master in General Management' at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. His research topic will be on dynamic project scheduling and control. |
